Animal Spirits

16 September 2017. It was past mid night. I heard a too familiar cry coming from downstairs. I tried to ignore it. In the end I went to the balcony to see what’s going on. It was a tiny black blob of fur that was crawling in front of the gate across our building; desperately trying to get inside the building for shelter. It kept crying and crying. Maybe calling for its mother or anyone to take care of it. A guy came out from inside the building to see what’s causing all that noise. Maybe he’s going to take it inside of the gate and place it somewhere warm? Or maybe give it something to eat? No. He used his legs to move it away from the gate of their building. The black blob came crawling back again. He pushed it away again and again until it stopped trying…
