Ploaia de trandafiri

Denisa Aricescu

Ploaia de trandafiri

Am întârziat când într-o seară
Încă mai ploua cu trandafiri.
Am ajuns aproape lângă tine,
Şi zâmbeam senin cum îi admiri.

M-am apropiat mai mult de fericire
Şi povestea lua cuprinsul unei zări
Trandafirul ce îl atingeai de mine
Era cheia marii aşteptări.

Ploaia-şi legăna privirea spre apus
Când petalele aprinse se-aşezau
Trandafirii îmbobociţi de-atâta dor
Îşi cântau povestea şi-nfloreau.

Eram tu şi eu într-o mulţime
Ca într-un tablou pictat demult.
Mă îndrăgosteam păşind, din nou, spre tine
Te apropiai şi tu…
Am renăscut.

VIRTUAL VEXILLOLOGY: Animated world flags with TLDs (Part 1 – North America)

Just added you to the magazine here Vijay http://flip.it/eVrR1 Regards Ian

HEM Animated ccTLD Flags Ident pizap.com14318621928841

For every country, and indeed many various territories, dependencies, states, provinces etc. one of the most important elements of self-representation, self-recognition and identity is a humble piece of cloth. The flag, for governments and patriots alike, is more than that though. It is a symbol of their identity, replete with symbolism, sacrifice and values. Many flags have become well-known enough that even the most geographically challenged can match the national flag to the nation it flies under. Everyone knows the Union Flag (Union Jack) is for Britain, the Tricouleur represents France, and the Star-Spangled Banner flutters over the States.

A few years ago, one enterprising graphic designer decided to make full use of the internet’s awesome superpowers and marry the thousand-year old tradition of the flag with a very recent innovation – the top-level domain – to produce a set of virtual animated flags.

A top-level domain is…

Destruction of a Power Plant God

Power Plant Men

Sometimes we unknowingly end up worshiping things we never intend.  It isn’t until those things are destroyed before we realize what has happened.  We have a natural tendency to worship something.  It’s built into our DNA to worship God just as sure as the God Particle converts energy into matter and subsequently atoms into earth and water.  I’m not sure when my obsession began, but I definitely know the day when it was destroyed.  August 5, 1996.

The day of realization began as a normal day, as Scott Hubbard and I were driving to the plant.  It seemed like an extra dark morning considering it was the middle of the summer.  Perhaps it was because by this time we were working four tens, which meant we arrived at the plant before 7:00 am so we left Stillwater, Oklahoma at 6:15 to drive to the coal-fired Power Plant in North Central…

Inuit Art

Micheline's Blog

“This documentary shows the inspiration behind Inuit sculpture. The Inuit approach to the work is to release the image the artist sees imprisoned in the rough stone. The film centres on an old legend about the carving of the image of a sea spirit to bring food to a hungry camp.” (YouTube)

Inuit Art

Inuit are excellent artists. Many are carvers and make carvings using soapstone. In earlier days, their preference was for walrus ivory. Their art can be found in galleries and museums in Canada’s larger cities: Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, Ottawa, but it seems that Winnipeg has Canada’s finest collection of Inuit art as well as several artists who draw inspiration from Inuit art. Toronto opened its Museum of Inuit Art, in 2007. But Inuit art can also be found in New York at Look North New York. (See Inuit Art)

Inuit carvings are at times very expensive, but they are one…

River Banks

Nice sentiment!

A Shade Of Pen

The two banks of a river

They never meet and yet never separate

Tagging along;

So near, yet always far!

Endless moments entwined together

Incessantly they flow

Making memories which forever stay!

Yet, the more they try

The farther, they drift away

The meandering curves of the river

Turn and toss

And the two banks come a little close

They meet, wink, touch and cross

But, before the moment gathers momentum

The curves widen

And the banks separate

Again apart

Yet, the feelings remain

Sometimes, the river is more than a river

Like two people, touched by love

Separated by Destiny, stars shine

Perhaps, the river does cry

Hoping one day, lovers unite
