The more I hear from this Pope the better I like him. He’s got common sense and intelligence which is RARE in world leaders today. In a sermon he delivered in Italy Pope Francis told his audience that not working on Sundays just isn’t for the faithful but for the non-faithful as well. He said that abandoning the practice of not working on Sundays negatively impacts families and friendships. The Pope went further and said opening stores and other businesses on Sundays as a way to create jobs is not beneficial for society.
The Pontiff added that the priority should be “not economic but HUMAN.” Further he added that the importance should be on families and friendships NOT commercial relationships. “Maybe it’s time to ask ourselves if working on Sundays is true freedom,” he said. WOODBURY, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) — Madeleine Hsu didn’t live on Long Island, but she slid down the slide and rocked on the plastic yellow horses on the playground of her family’s church in Woodbury when she visited.
As WCBS 880’s Monica Miller reported, that playground was dedicated Sunday to Maddie, one of 26 people gunned down at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, in December 2012.

If you ever have the chance to see the film about this man, it is an astonishing work:
So many biographies tend to be dull, or appear to be grasping for drama.
This man’s life did not need any more drama, it was filled to the brim with it as soon as he arrived in Molokai
I am not sure how many of us ever could, or would, have had the courage to do what he did.
I was a treatment Nurse in a Rehab Center for four years and was surrounded daily by those that society and the state of California considered to be wretched souls.
Many there were merely being housed in a state facility, that kept them medicated just enough to be safe for the staff to work with, or somewhat controllable.
Some times however, they were not.
